In this FAQ section you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions related to
the rules for transporting parcels of UAB “TORAS LT”.
Parcel packaging
- The parcel packaging must be suitable for the shape, weight and type of the items being shipped.
- It must be strong, with durable walls, and withstand loading and transportation loads. It is recommended to use new corrugated cardboard boxes.
- The size of the package must correspond to the size of the contents, and empty spaces must be filled with packaging materials (paper, shavings, cotton wool, foam, air bubble film).
- The contents of the parcel must not protrude from the package.
- Corrugated cardboard boxes must be sealed with adhesive tape over the entire volume in at least three places.
- Fragile items must be packed separately in suitable protective materials and must not have direct contact with the walls of the package.

Yes, suitcases and sturdy sports bags can be sent unpacked. However, they must be sturdy and suitable for transportation.
According to clause 12.1 of the Rules, the Carrier is not liable for shortages or damage to goods if they were packed and marked in violation of the requirements of clause 7 of the Rules (section “How to pack”).
Prohibited shipments
- The list of prohibited items for carriage is quite extensive and includes items that may pose a danger, are prohibited by law or may harm other shipments. The main prohibited items are: tobacco products, alcoholic beverages, weapons and their parts, ammunition, explosives, narcotics and psychotropic substances, perishable food and non-food products, money, securities, precious metals and gemstones, antiques, toxic or corrosive solutions, printed, audio, video or electronic material prohibited by law, human remains or body parts, items for the transportation of which special conditions or permits are required, and other items specified in the “Prohibited Shipments” section of the Rules and in paragraph 10 of the Rules on the website of UAB TORAS LT.
- Please note possible additional restrictions when shipping to/from certain countries, such as England and Scotland (additional restrictions may apply to animals, plants, and food products after Brexit).
TORAS LT does not assume any responsibility for shipments with prohibited contents accepted by mistake. According to the rules, TORAS LT has the right to stop the shipment at any stage and check the contents of the package if there are suspicions of prohibited items. In such a case, TORAS LT takes all necessary security measures, and the Service Payer fully compensates for the losses and expenses incurred as a result.
Carrier liability and compensation
According to clause 12.2 of the Rules, the Carrier is liable for the disappearance, damage, shortage or damage of a shipment if this occurred due to the fault of the Carrier.
For CARRIER services (not Lithuanian Post services): Maximum possible compensation – up to 100 EUR (clause 12.2.1 of the Rules).
It is necessary to notify the Carrier in writing about the damage or loss of the shipment by submitting a claim in accordance with the established procedure.
Parcel Marking
- The parcel addresses (sender and recipient) must be printed or clearly written on a white sheet of paper.
- The address sheet must be firmly glued with adhesive tape on the largest surface of the package.
- It is recommended to protect the notes by covering them with transparent adhesive film.
- When sending a suitcase without additional packaging, the address must be firmly attached to it.
